Kanas completed the installation of the load bearing wall panels and Hambro composite joist forming systems for this 60 unit, six storey multi family apartment located in south west Calgary.

Brenda Strafford

Kanas manufactured and installed the load bearing steel stud walls and installed the Hambro composite joint system for this 80 unit, six storey women’s shelter in north west Calgary.

Lomond

Kanas Corporation was the General Contractor for Lomond, a 15 unit 4 storey rental apartment building for the affordable housing market. Lomond stands as one of the most energy efficient multi family residential building in Calgary with combined natural gas and electricity costs 58 per cent lower than a traditional constructed apartment.

Parkhill II

Parkhill II is designed as a 10 unit building within walking distance of LRT and only steps from a major bus route on MacLeod Trail. It is minutes away from fantastic park space along the Elbow River.This will be an opportunity to implement and refine new construction processes and techniques, ones we will use to optimize the larger buildings proposed here. It will exceed standards through a steel load-bearing stud structure and performance EFIS systems. The target is BUILT GREEN Platinum.

Kanas will take advantage of prefabricated building envelope items for quality and speed of construction. These innovations are currently in use in other developments; we are refining them for use on Parkhill II and future Kanas buildings. Parkhill II will pilot a tenant energy management system. The system is designed to ensure spaces are comfortable when occupied. When spaces are empty, no energy is used.
