The Lomond was one of Kanas' earliest projects, a 15-unit, 4 storey rental apartment building for Calgary Housing Corporation designed with the affordable housing market in mind.

 

Lomond stands out as one of the most energy efficient multifamily residential buildings in Calgary, with combined natural gas and electricity costs 58% lower than a comparable traditionally constructed apartment building.

 

It also piloted unique technologies such as an energy-reclaiming elevator, triple-pane windows, energy reclaiming for an on-site cogeneration system that provides electricity and domestic hot water, and a rooftop garden. Several units are also wheelchair accessible.
